Filmmaker Shane Black will receive the Outstanding Filmmaker Award at the 2026 Las Cruces International Film Festival, hosted by New Mexico State University.

“The Mold,” a dystopian thriller filmed in Albuquerque and directed by Mason McDonald, has wrapped production with a crew of more than 50 New Mexico residents and a story rooted in the state’s film community.
The feature film In Our Blood — shot entirely in Las Cruces — will premiere Oct. 17 with a Q&A featuring director Pedro Kos and cast members.
The feature film “A Better Place,” a dark comedy thriller shot in and around Las Cruces, wrapped production in May. The project hired more than 100 New Mexico residents and featured local businesses and landscapes.
“Coppers,” a feature thriller filmed entirely in New Mexico, has wrapped production in Socorro. The project employed dozens of New Mexico actors and crew and stars Sean Patrick Flanery, Eric Roberts and Steven Michael Quezada.
“Followed,” a short film about online safety and real-world threats, wrapped principal photography in Las Cruces and employed more than 20 New Mexico residents.
